Doctor’s Best Proteolytic Enzymes is a broad spectrum high-quality proteolytic enzyme formula which includes a variety of plant, bacterial, and fungal proteases. The goal was to create a blend that works at a variety of pH levels to support the body’s enzymatic needs. Maintaining optimal enzymatic function is a key factor in supporting health and wellness. Proteases - types of enzymes whose catalytic function is to hydrolyze (break) protein linkages.
Proteases differ in their ability to hydrolyze various peptide bonds. Bacterial proteases are generally optimally active in alkaline conditions, fungal proteases in more acidic conditions, and neutral proteases (from bacteria) are active at a neutral pHs.
Bromelain - is a family of proteolytic enzymes derived from the pineapple plant. Bromelain has a variety of physiological mechanisms through which it exerts its effects.
Papain - a proteolytic enzyme derived from the unripe papaya. Traditionally used in combination with bromelain.
Serratiopeptidase - This proteolytic enzyme has been shown to be more powerful than the proteolytic enzymes produced in the pancreas, chymotrypsin and trypsin.
Fungal amylase - an enzyme derived from the fungus Aspergillus oryza. Breaks down carbohydrates, such as starch, and glycogen.
Lipase - the main enzyme responsible for breaking down fats. Lipases hydrolyze triglycerides (fats) into their component fatty acid and glycerol molecules.
Dose (adults):Take 3 capsules daily without food, or as recommended by a nutritionally-informed physician.

I use this supplement to both help my digestion and also at night rather than an anti-acid. It works well for my needs. I am 86 and have the usual elderly problems with digestion and I am glad I found this product as i no longer need to take strong pharmaceutical drugs to sort this out.
To early to tell as I had to stop taking the tablets due to knee surgery but will get back on them tomorrow and see what happens.
I have been taking these veggie caps since the lock down of Covid 19. At the present moment they are doing okay with me. I do not wake up in the mornings feeling pain in my legs and my arms. Prior to knowing that I could purchase the product in NZ I was purchasing the same product called Heal n Soothe from a company in America. So now NZ has the same product so when I need more I will make contact with your company for another bottle.
I felt immediate improvement with less artritic pain, however after 2 days this returned. At this stage I'm uncertain about long term efficacy. Possibly though SMET has been found to be beneficial for arthritis this particular formulation may not be the best for this condition as tumeric is not listed in the formula?
