Ashwaganda is a small scrub belonging to the Solanaceae family. It grows prolifically in dry regions of South Asia, Central Asia, and Africa, and is extensively used in Ayurvedic medicine, an ancient Indian system. Ashwagandha is an adaptogen that has been traditionally promoted to enhance youthful vigour, muscle strength and overall health. It helps with the effects of stress and restores normal physical function. Ashwagandha has been widely studied, with over 1300 studies on PubMed.
Benefits:
Suggested use (adults, over the age of 12): Take one capsule 2x daily with or without food, swallowed with a full glass of water. Do not exceed daily recommended dose. Users should consult a healthcare provider for use beyond 12 consecutive weeks, or to arrange for planned periodical breaks from supplementation.
Caution: Do not use in pregnancy and while breastfeeding. Interactions may occur with antidiabetic medication, benzodiazepines, central nervous system and immune suppressants, thyroid hormones.
